Pepperoni is part of one of the great "fake" in the world of gastronomy; this sausage has no relationship with Italian pizza or any relationship with the gastronomy of this country.
Pepperoni is a sausage invented and popularized in the United States and exported to the world by pizza multinationals, without any relation to the gastronomy of Italy.
Interestingly, this product has the same name with a P less than the Italian pepper (peperoni) ingredient than if it is part of many Italian pizzas. In Barcelona you can find pizzas made as if you were in Italy, with the same quality that can be found in this country.
The basic ingredients, pizza dough (flour, fresh yeast, salt and water), mozzarella (cheese made from buffalo milk and crushed natural tomato can be found in our stalls. Along with basil and oregano, which make up the base of an authentic pizza, but you will not find the aforementioned sausage in any delicatessen.
